Sylvanian Families Photo Captions

Squiggle has been taking it easy today because her energy levels are very low at the moment. But that didn’t stop her from getting the inspiration to create some simple Sylvanian Families scenes, then take photos of them and write captions. I love how Sylvanian Families continue to inspire her in such a variety of ways! Oh and she has just discovered emojis and hashtags, as you can see from the captions lol… 😬;)😂💗

30 Days Wild – Day 1: Nature In Our Garden

Today marks the start of the #30DaysWild challenge, which continues throughout June. For those who don’t already know, this is organised by The Wildlife Trusts; the purpose is to bring people closer to nature and to connect with the natural environment.

image

Day one: ‘Nature Growing Wild In Our Garden’.

Firstly, Squiggle and I discussed what the challenge is and came up with ideas for future activities. We decided that for today we would go out into the garden to look at the plants and flowers growing naturally, then take some photos to share.

Squiggle’s collage of photos she took herself today.

Squiggle decided she wanted to share her photos with everyone and chose to present them as both a collage and a video clip.

Squiggle created this video clip herself using the nature photos she took today in our garden. She was very keen to have varied and colourful backgrounds for each photo, which makes her video clip somewhat interesting and unique. I feel this matches her personality very well- and I love the fact that her finished work is a true reflection of herself!

Highlights of April

Some of our activities in April included art group, music class, dance class, nature walks, several parks, Langleybury Farm, planting in our garden, a variety of creative activities and Easter activities (see previous blog post).

(I chose the song Price Tag because this was the one Squiggle learned a routine to in dance class and so we have listened to it ALOT this month! It also led to a nice discussion on materialism/ priorities).

Eco- Energy City

Today Squiggle and I spent the majority of the day building an ‘Eco- Energy City’. It was such an interesting project and sparked lots of educational discussion, such as renewable energy sources, transfer of energy and different ways energy is used. She was really focused throughout and loved the finished product too- a big thumbs up from us!

And it works! The 'city' gets energy via the solar panel and hand generator, which can be stored and then used to power the windmill, turn the water wheel and light up the street light and house light.

Sylvanians came to visit the city and learn about it too!
